Kaal mari aadiya kanaka sabhesha ,

Un mel kadal konde , Ayyane , Ghana thuyyane

 

Anupallavi

Maan mazhu endhiye , mangai natam puriyum,

Ananda thandavane , Natarajane

Charanam

1.Padam varundum  endru Pandian  vendidave,

Vedam alum kana vimala malar ppadam,

Nee dhayavudan  thooki  nirthanam aadida,

Madhava muni pathanjali padhar kooda

 

 

2.Shakthi shivakami nithiyam  unnudan aada,

Bhakthiyudan nandi taala  marakkalam poda,

Mukthi alitha peyammai yundan pugazh pada,

Thad dimi thom  thom endru  malar thookkiyae

 

English translation

 

Pallavi

Oh Lord of the Golden stage, who dances with the other leg,

I have fallen in love with you, Oh Lord, oh pure one

 

Anupallavi

Oh king of dance, of joyful dancer,

Who dances along with Parvathi,

Holding in his hand a deer and an axe.

 

Charanam

 

1.When the pandya requested you saying that your legs will pain,

You with kindness lifted  the flower like tender feet

Which rules the world and danced ,

With Madhava muni, Patanjali and Vyagra Pada in attendance.

 

2.When daily the Shakthi who was the sweetheart of Shiva,

Danced with you, Lord Nandi with devotion ,

Kept beats for you in the wooden drum,

And the mother to whom you gave salvation sang your praise,

You danced lifting a leg , Tham, dhimi, thom.
