Eliyen endanai , inidhu aatkolla

Pannaga sayana , parama dayakara ,

Padam paninden , sadgathi , perva , naan

Abhayam endra karikku udaviya namano,

Arangin maanam  kathadhor namano,

Aran manathidai sada japithidum namano,

Avaniyor urauthidum ayiram namathil

 

English Translation

 

Pallavi

 

To which name would you respond and come,

To  sweetly admit me who is a destitute

 

Anupallavi

 

Oh Lord who lies down on a snake,

Oh greatest  giver of mercy,

I salute your feet,

So that I get salvation.

 

Charanam

 

Should the name used by the elephant when it surrendered,

Or Should it be the name which saved the honour of the lady,

Or should it be the name which is always meditated by Lord Shiva,

Or should it be one  of those thousand names which is chanted by people of the world.
