Velavane umakku velai ennavo sollu,

Jalangal chydhe  saingara  vadi

Bala subramanya Parvathi balane ,
paramesan thanakku  upadesam cheuydhone

1.Andru oru kurathiyai manandaye nee,

Moondru lokangalai  mayil mel chuttinaye,

Kundru thorum  sendru kuzhaivaga aadinaye,

Chandron endrium theriyane , Shanumka devane

 

2.AAratha thyurathai mathra vallavo neeyum,

Arumugam  thannai amaithu kondave,

Taru maaraga unnai thudi cheydhene,

Thamadam yeno  Adi varada dasan pothum

 

English translation

Hey Vadi Vela ,  who does many tricks,

What do you really do?

 

Anupallavi

 

Son of Pravathi , the young boy Subramanya,

Who  taught  Lord Parameshwara,

 

Charanam

 

1, Long ago did you not marry a tribal girl?

Did you not go round the world on a peacock?

Did you go to all hills and dance nicely?

Oh God Shanmukha who is always known to the learned.

 

 

2.Are you not capable of removing sorrow which has no end,

And you yourseld made six faces for yourself,

And I praised you without any proper method,

And why is this delay? Oh God whose feet is praised by Varada dasa.
