Aravaninthe thillai ambalathe aadum,

Aran magane , guhane , azhagay unnai padi

Urukkamudan thamizhil ullaam inikka azhaithal,

Unnaye ariyamal odiye vanthiduvay,

Viruppamudan Arunagiri Thiruppugazh padithalo,

Vegu aavalay ketka virainthe vanthiduvay.

Suppose you do not come and also quarrel with me,

I know how to make  you come.

Oh son of Lord Shiva  who dances in Chidambaram ,

Wearing a snake , Oh Guha, by singing sweetly

If I call you meltingly making the tamil mind sweet,

You would come running without knowing yourself,

If I sing Thiruppugazh of Arunagiri  with devotion,

You will come very fast to hear it with great desire.
