Kayinil  vel piditha karunai Shiva Balanai

Yen disai padum pugazh vasantha poongavil,

Vandu sukham  thantha kandanai , yen kandanai

Neela mayil kandu nenjamum marakkavillai,

Nesamudan kalanda pasamum marayavillai,

Kola kumaran mana koil niraindhu vittan,

Kuru nagai thanai katti  narumalar choodi vittan

From the day of seeing the son of Shiva holding  the vel,

My mind is ebbing with love , dear friend.

 

Anupallavi

 

Skanda, my Skanda  who came and showered  me with pleasure,

In the garden of spring whose fame is sung in eight directions.

 

Charanam

Seeing the blue peacock, my mind did not forget you,

Neither did I forget your affection mixed friendliness,

The pretty Subramanya has filled my mind completely,

And he showed his pretty smile and made me wear the pretty flowers.
