The word Maya is a word which is very familiar to the western and eastern
world, but very few know what it actually means. It is a word which was
used by the rishis (sages) of ancient India to describe the nature of
this universe of changing forms. The rishis have always been telling us
that matter is not as real or as solid as we think. It is only an illusion
projected by our senses. They called It "maya" or the magical
creative power of the "Brahman".

Maya Dewaide is an alumna of the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, as well as the Sai University.
She studied grades 10, 11 and 12 at the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School in Prasanthi Nilayam, graduating in 1998 with a national prize for business studies. She then went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Philosophy and English Literature from the Anantapur Campus of Sai University. She was named Institute Captain for the Anantapur Campus in the year 2001.
Maya presently lives in Antwerp, Belgium where she is engaged in the diamond and jewellery trade as Operations Manager of a leading enterprise. In this role, she oversees the logistics and insurance aspects of the business. Work apart, she helps coordinate the Sai centre set up by her father according to Bhagawan's instructions.
Maya Dewaide (MD) is the daughter of Mr. Jean-Pierre Dewaide, a teacher in the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School.

What is the meaning of Guru'Gu' means darkness and 'Ru' means light. Guru (spiritual preceptor) scatters darkness through light; he imparts wisdom which roots out our ignorance. 'Gu' also connotes 'Gunaathe etha' (One who is beyond 'gunas' or attributes) and 'Ru' connotes 'Roopavarjitha' (One who has transcended Form). Do not seek human Gurus, however great their reputation. They are bound by the qualities they have developed and they are still in need of the Form so that they may conceive of Reality. They themselves being limited, how can they communicate to you the Unlimited? Pray to the Parabrahma Principle (transcendental principle) or God within you to reveal Itself.
